The Midwest Clergy Wives’ Retreat has been meeting for 35 years. It is a Pan-Orthodox event designed for clergy wives to have fellowship together, learn from a guest speaker, and participate in the services and hospitality at Holy Dormition Monastery, Rives Junction, MI.
The retreat began in 1987 with the ladies meeting at the Vatra and cooking their own meals. Perhaps their most notable speaker was Matushka Juliana Schmemann.
Since 2002, the retreat has been hosted by Holy Dormition Monastery. We have been blessed to interact with the nuns and to meet in beautiful surroundings. Before his death, Fr. Roman often came to encourage the clergy wives with a short word. Mother Gabriella continues this tradition of extending love and compassion to clergy families.
